Do good through design | Lead from empathy and honesty | Build together while owning a point-of-view
I believe design has the power to do good in the world by shaping our everyday experiences through technology.
More than ever, we have a responsibility to be mindful and ethical in our decisions, all while treating others with respect and kindness.
I’m action-oriented and honest. Most of all, I’m full of empathy.
I drive high-quality output by providing clear expectations and direct feedback; I expect my peers and reports to push me, too.
I encourage varying perspectives and work with my team to commit to a stance so that we show up as a unified team.
I believe in the power of reflection and keep track of my footprints so that both myself and my manager can see where I’ve been to help inform where I’m going. If it’s trackable, it’s accountable.
I mentor and empower other designers and teammates by listening intently and taking action to support when needed.
I’m fair and have a point of view. I'm open-minded and negotiable, especially if it’s for the betterment of our teams and customers.
I work with my partners through trade-offs, understand the risks we take on with the decisions we make, and how they affect our users and our business.
I believe the best work is achieved by our teams when everyone contributes to the conversation - from peers to C-Suite.
I will ask you a lot of questions, it’s the way I get to understand you better. I work with teams to identify goals and pain points so we can openly work through problems and solve issues together.
I regularly contribute to the design community as a guest lecturer and speaker, sharing practical insights on UX, product design, and career growth. I’ve been invited to speak at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Loyola Marymount University on multiple occasions, where I’ve worked with students across early-career through principal-level perspectives—helping them understand not just how to design, but how to grow, adapt, and lead over time.
Speaking and teaching are extensions of my design practice: a way to bring clarity to complexity, share hard-earned lessons, and support the next generation of designers as they navigate their own paths. I firmly believe in giving back to the community that has enriched my life so much and to be a a safe space for other designers.
“Jennifer has joined my UCLA class numerous times to share her insights on navigating a career in UX—from early roles to principal level. She’s not only a great designer, but also has a sharp product mind, seamlessly balancing user needs with business needs to create thoughtful, impactful solutions. Her ability to distill complex topics into clear, actionable advice makes her an outstanding speaker, and she brings that same clarity to keynote presentations. Any class or conference would be lucky to have her expertise at their event.”
